Do you want to know how to make extra money? Who doesn’t like extra money? Some of the ways to make extra money that I’ve listed below can be turned into a full-time job. If you don’t like being an employee, this could be your ticket out of the rat race.

1. Start a blog
Believe it or not, you can make a lot of money from blogging but you’ll have to be persistent. Don’t think you can make a living blogging with just 100 articles. Aim to push out 200-500 high-quality articles that people are searching for and aren’t too competitive before you give up. You should also give your articles at least 8 months to rank on Google first before you decide whether it’s working or not. It takes time for Google to trust your site and recommend your blog to people searching for the articles you write.
Some people are able to make 10k-100k per month blogging.
To get started with blogging, you’ll need a domain name and a hosting service. I recommend BlueHost as it’s relatively cheap while being an industry leader. They have a reliable live chat service available to be reached within 5–15 minutes. You can ask them to set up WordPress and SSL certificates for you. 2. Start a youtube channel
There are people making 2k-100k per month on their YouTube channel. Think about what niche you want to be in. Not all niches are equal. Click here to see the most profitable niches on YouTube. Pick a niche that you’re interested in and begin creating content.

3. Start a podcast
Some people are able to make a lot of money with their podcasts (up to 1 million a year or more). Of course, you’ll need to select a niche to do a podcast that enough people are interested in. If you’re good at talking, you should try a podcast.
You’ll need a microphone to start recording.

You can also just host it on YouTube if you want although it isn’t as common to see a podcast being hosted on YouTube.
4. Start a dropshipping business
With a dropshipping business, you’ll be able to sell other people’s products without ever handling the product. First, you’ll go to sites like alidropship.com to select a product you want to sell. Next, you’ll create a website to sell the product. You can create a dropshipping website easily with Shopify (affiliate link). You don’t need any coding or design skills. It’s as simple as choosing the design, uploading the product photos, and changing a few texts. Lastly, you’ll create ads to bring people to your site and purchase the product.
Say you found a product from a manufacturer on alidropship.com that costs $5 per unit, you sell it for $45 per unit, and it cost you $10 to do the ads, you’ll be able to pocket $30 per unit sold.
5. Start an FBA business
FBA stands for fulfilled by Amazon. You’ll find a product on sites like Alibaba.com and buy it in bulk to ship it to Amazon’s warehouse. Each unit would cost less when you buy in bulk. When someone purchases the product, you’ll be able to make money off the difference between what you listed the product at and what you bought it at.
Selecting the right product is key. Not all products will sell equally. It does require more money to start an FBA business so this isn’t for everyone.
You’ll also need to pay money to store your product at Amazon’s warehouse so that’s another thing to keep in mind. Don’t start an FBA business if your budget is tight. It may take you a few tries to get it right. Start a different kind of business that costs less money to start.
6. Stream on Twitch
Yes, you can make money streaming on Twitch. You can stream yourself playing games and make $40,000 per month doing that. If you want to learn how to make money on Twitch, click here.

7. Be a writer on Medium
Some people are able to make $141 for an hour’s work writing on Medium. If you want to learn how to make money on Medium, click here. You can write an article to publish on Medium for free and when a paying member of Medium reads your story (that’s what they called their article), you’ll get some money.
You can make more money by writing for a publication. There are publications on Medium that accept articles from people like you and me who aren’t well known. You want to choose a publication that has a lot of followers so your articles get seen in front of more eyeballs. More views mean more money for you.
You can literally spend an hour on an article, published it on Medium, and gets $141 in just a few days from the views and it doesn’t cost you any money to do so.
8. Sell arts on Etsy
Yes, you can sell arts and crafts on Etsy online for money. Some people are able to make a living doing this. You can sell any kind of art you can think of: a painting, a sculpture, a coloring page, candles, etc.
9. Start a brand on Instagram
Another way to make money on the internet is to start a brand on Instagram. Once you get enough following, you can start to offer sponsorship deals and work with companies to do affiliate marketing deals. You can also sell your own merchandise and digital products.
You’ll have to pick a niche first. Some people take pictures with quotes to inspire and motivate. Many accounts are able to get a lot of following this way. Do your research on the niche you want to start and study how others in your niche are doing this. You can create free pictures to share on Instagram on sites like Canva.com
10. Tutor kids online
Think about what you’re good at, math, English, science, etc. You can put it to good use by teaching other people. There are also places where you can teach non-English speaking kids how to speak in English. VIPKID is one example.
11. Create an app to sell
You can hire someone to do this for you or do it yourself. If you can create a killer app to sell you can make a lot of money doing this. FlappyBird was making $50,000 per day at some point.
12. Flip paintings
Hey, who says your art degree is useless? Go to a thrift store and find old paintings that you can flip for a profit. Sometimes you can find a long-lost painting that can fetch millions of dollars!
You’ll need to do your research first to see whether it is a painting worth buying.
13. Walk dogs
Some people are able to make a lot of money walking people’s dogs. In fact, one woman reportedly earned $200,000 per year by offering her dog walking service to people in New York.
You can start walking people’s dogs on apps like Rover.
14. Babysit other people’s pet
Sometimes you can make $120 per night by letting other people’s pets stay at your place. You’ll have to do the litter scooping and dog walking, etc. You may also have to offer them their own beds to sleep in and foods to eat. If you’re a pet lover, this would be a perfect way to make extra money.
15. Write other people’s resumes on Fiverr
Some people really hate writing resumes. If you can help other people write their resumes, you can make some extra money on Fiverr. You can specialize in an industry or you can go broad and accept anybody’s request for resume writing.
16. Teach people how to cook in person
You should be very careful when going to other people’s houses but believe it or not, some people have made a living by teaching other people how to cook in person. You can make it a fun activity that involves the whole family.
17. Make custom cake to sell on Tiktok
Some people are able to make customized cakes to sell to their viewers on Tiktok (provided that they live close to where the cakes are produced). If you like baking, go make some videos of yourself baking treats and start accepting custom offers.

18. Sell slimes
Yes, slimes are still here despite their initial craze in 2017. There are a lot of people making a living on the internet selling slimes. It can be a fun business to start if you’re into slimes.
Marisa was making $50k per month selling slimes at 17 years old. Her brand is called Parakeet slimes. Here’s a video on how she did it.
19. Be a life coach
Some life coaches are able to make more than $100,000 per year through the internet. They’ll talk with their clients every week to keep track of where each of them is heading and when their clients are facing troubles, they can throw the right words together in a way that leads their clients to a better path.
If you want to brand yourself as a life coach, you have to put yourself out there. Start a YouTube channel talking about common struggles (anxiety, stress, heartbreak, job loss, etc) and your advice.
You can then offer your service to your viewers.
20. Sell stock photos
Good at taking pictures? Why not sell the photos you took? Many content creators require stock photos and stock videos to complete their projects. You can make some money off of your hobby.
21. Paid surveys
You can take paid surveys on sites like SurveyJunkie. You won’t get rich by taking surveys but it can be some extra income for you to supplement some of your monthly costs.
22. Create fonts to sell
Yes, you can create fonts to sell. Many people are looking for a specific type of font to suit their needs. Your font could help them tremendously and you can also make extra money doing this. Some people are able to make thousands of dollars per month selling fonts but the competition has been getting more fierce so that’s a rare occurrence now but you can definitely still try.
23. Sell your hair
If you got long hair, you can sell it for money. The lighter the color of your hair, the more you can sell it for because there is more dark hair being sold than light-colored hair.
24. Rent out your parking space
Your extra parking space is sitting there and not making you any money, why not rent it out? You can rent out your parking space in your driveway or in the basement (if you live in a condo). The price you can set depends on the specific place you live.
25. Rent out your spare bedroom
This is a great way to make passive income as you don’t really have to do much besides renting out the room and maybe tidying it up when your customer leaves. You can rent out your spare bedroom in an AirBnB if you wish.
26. Rent out your pool
Did you know that you can rent out your pool? Yes, you can. Check out Swimply.com to see how you can do that.
27. Put ads on your car
You may have seen cars driving around with ads on them. It may not look pretty but it certainly brings their owner some extra cash every month. You can do the same too. Check out Carvertise.com.
28. Drive for Uber
Driving for Uber can make you a few hundred dollars per month if you work only on the weekends. If you live in a busy city, you may be able to make more.
29. Housesit
Yes, you can make money housesitting for people. You’ll basically go about your day in their house while making sure that no one intrudes on the property. If you do that often enough, you may not even have to rent a place to live.
30. Be a voiceover artist
If you’re good at talking over a microphone without too many errors (which I tend to do) in one take, this may be something you should look into.
You can voice-over children’s books where you may get recurring royalties on your part.
31. Buy a vending machine
Vending machines placed in strategic areas can make a lot of money. Some people don’t have to work any job because their vending machines bring in enough money every month. Of course, they’ll have to restock the vending machine and take the money out once in a while.
32. Dress up for children’s birthday parties
Many kids like to see their favorite characters at their birthday parties. If you like dressing up and are good with kids, this may be a gig for you. However, you might want to wait for the world to start to open up more to pursue this gig.
33. Buy cryptocurrencies
I’m not a financial advisor, you must do your own research first to begin down this path. You could lose every penny you put in if there’s a market crash. But you could also win big if you invest in the right thing early on. The safest crypto to bet on now is Bitcoin but don’t take my word for it, do your own research! It’s better to hold crypto long-term than over a short period of time.
34. Trade stocks
There are day stock traders out there who are able to make quite a bit of money trading. It may require quite a bit of expertise to do it correctly so this isn’t something common folks should get into thinking they’ll make a quick buck. You may find yourself lucky and win big only to lose it all the next day. Do your research.
35. Flip domain names
Did you know that the domain name, pizza.com sold for 2.6 million? You won’t find domain names like that anymore. You’ll have to get specific, like, StacyPizza.com specific.
If you can find a domain name that people may want and sell it when you got an offer, you may make quite a bit of money.
36. Publish ebooks on KDP
You can make some good money by selling ebooks on Amazon’s KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing). You probably won’t make a lot of money because most authors don’t make more than $500 per year on KDP but you can always try. It’s free to publish and all you need to do is to upload your formated copy to Amazon’s KDP platform. You can track how many pages are read and what you can expect to earn. Your paycheque will arrive 2 months after the month that you made the sale.
37. Design logos on Fiverr
Are you a graphic designer? You can design logos for people on Fiverr for extra cash. Design cheap logos or expensive logos. It’s up to you how you want to brand your account.
38. Set up WordPress blog for people on Fiverr
A lot of people would like to start a blog but don’t know how to. You can offer to help them set up the WordPress blog for them from start to finish including domain registration. They’ll have to pay for the hosting and domain name of course but you can offer to set up their entire site for them.
You can also design the blog from scratch for them if you’re able to code websites.
39. Proofread for people on Fiverr
Yes, you can proofread for people on Fiverr for money. You can proofread people’s novels, resumes, letters, essays, etc. The more reviews you have, the easier it is for you to land your next offer.
40. Create a course to sell
You can create a course to sell on sites like Udemy, Thinktific, or Kajaba. There are people making millions per year selling courses. In fact, if you want to be a millionaire, one of the easiest ways is to create a course to sell. If your course costs $200, you’ll need to sell 5000 copies in order to make a million dollars.
You can create a course to sell on Udemy where people can find you with a search. Or, you may have to create an audience base first before you create a course. Otherwise, no one would be able to find your course or trust you enough to buy your course.
41. Be a personal trainer
Many people want to get in shape. You can first start a free exercise training exercise video on YouTube to gain a following. Then, you can start selling personal training courses to people who are interested in what you have to offer. Many people make the mistake of offering their service when they have no following and then end up quitting because no one wants them as personal trainers. Build up a following first. You can do that on Instagram, YouTube, or other places.
42. Build a chrome extension
Are you good at coding? Then, you should build a chrome extension. Those are the add-ons that can help the users in some ways. Jot down some ideas and begin working!
43. Write a business plan
There are many people who want to start a business but don’t know where to start. You can offer your service on freelance sites like Fiverr to help draw out a plan of how to start one’s business.
A person who wants to start a blog may need a business plan detailing how many articles they must produce per month, how many words they must write per article, when they should release their product, etc.
44. Sell your recipes
Are you good at cooking and making up recipes? Why not sell your recipes? Of course, you need to give people a reason to buy your recipes. You can’t just randomly offer your recipes to people who don’t know you and don’t know the kind of cooking skills you have.
Go market yourself on YouTube, Instagram, Tiktok, etc. Those who are interested will buy your recipes and you can make money doing what you love.
45. Create presentations
Are you good at creating slides? Why not create presentations for those who aren’t good at it? Your clients could be students, professors, companies, etc. You can offer your service on Fiverr.
46. Edit videos
There are more and more YouTubers being created every day and many of them need someone to edit videos for them. If you’re good at editing videos, you should offer your service. Go to YouTube and reach out to new creators who look like they need help with their videos. They may just hire you and you can start working!
47. Be a ghostwriter
Most books don’t make a lot of money and most people won’t find out how much their books can make until a year later and they don’t make many sales. If you like to write, you can be a ghostwriter for people who need a book written. You don’t have to worry about the book not doing well because you’ll get to be paid upfront before the book is published.
48. Be a remote security guard
Is a remote security guard a real thing? Yes, it is. You’ll have to observe live footage being played out and inform any amenities and intruders. The best part is that you get to do it from home.
49. Translate
Do you know more than one language? If you can fluently speak, read, and write in more than one language, you can translate other people’s content for money. There are a lot of people doing this on Upwork and Fiverr.
50. Sell your design on CreativeMarket
Do you like to design things? Why not sell it on CreativeMarket? You can find all kinds of designs on CreativeMarket. Many of these designs selling well aren’t hard to make at all. Try your hand at selling designs and who knows, maybe you’ll make some good money.
