Thinking of a name for your blog can be daunting particularly when it’s a lifestyle blog and you aren’t in a particular niche where it may make sense to include certain keywords.
Your lifestyle blog is your personal brand so the keywords you use should include really differ from person to person.
Let’s get started!
Table of Contents
1. Make sure it’s short, easy to spell, pronounce, and remember
The name of your blog should be:
- Short (<15 characters)
- Easy to spell (when someone heard it they should be able to spell it easily)
- Easy to pronounce (can you easily pronounce it?)
- Easy to remember
- Make sure it contains no more than 3 words

2. Use your name
If you really can’t think of what to name your lifestyle blog, using your name can be an option.
A lot of lifestyle bloggers use their names as the name of their blog and they are doing just fine.
Many bloggers from different niches also use their names as the name of their blogs.
So if your name is Sarah Smith, your domain name could be SarahSmith.com
However, there are instances where you shouldn’t use your name as the name of your blog:
- When your name is hard to spell
- When your name is hard to remember
- When your name is long
- When your name is hard to pronounce
If you have an ethnic name, I would strongly advise you not to use your name as the name of your blog since it could be very hard for anyone to pronounce or remember it. (Unless your name is common and used by many)
3. Use your pet’s name
Did you know that many people use their pets’ names as their passwords?
You can also incorporate your pet name into the name of your blog.
For instance, if your name is Amy and your pet’s name is Gilbert, you could name your blog:
- AmyAndGilbert.com
- AmyWithGilbert.com
- AmyPlusGil.com
- LifeWithGil.com
- GilMyBoss.com
- FluffyGilAndMe.com
4. Use your name + the name of a place
This would be great if you want to document your life living in a specific place long-term.
If you do decide to move in the future, it’ll be fine as well especially if you already have a loyal fan base of people who’s been following your journey for a while.
Just don’t make your blog too centered on the place. Instead, make it focused on your life.
Here are some examples of how you can incorporate your name with the name of a place:
- JaneInNewYork.com
- TheNewYorkJane.com
- JaneAndNewYork.com
- JaneMyNewYork.com
- NewYorkNewJane.com
- JaneFromNewYork.com
- NewYorkSmell.com
- NewYorkJane.com
5. Use your name + job title
You can use your job title with your name in a blog name.
You don’t even have to use your day job title, you can use a title that you like such as “artist” even if you aren’t an artist.
Here’s how you could do it:
- JaneTheArtist.com
- ArtistJane.com
- JaneAnArtist.com
- JaneImArtist.com
- ThatArtistCalledJane.com
- ArtistJaneLife.com
- ArtistJaneMoment.com
6. Use your name + the name of a color
You can also use your name with the name of a color in a domain name.
For instance:
- RedLisa.com
- LisaInRed.com
- LisaLovesRed.com
- LisaAndRed.com
- LisaBloodRed.com
- LisaWearsRed.com
- LisaAllRed.com
- LisaWithRed.com
7. Use your name + the name of an animal
It doesn’t have to be your favorite animal. It could just be an animal whose appearance or personality you like. For instance:
- LisaBear.com
- LisaMyBear.com
- LisaLovesBear.com
- LisaAndBear.com
- ItsALisaBear.com
- BearWithLisa.com (See what I did there? :D)
- CuteBearLisa.com
- LisaPetBear.com (I meant “pet bear” not “pets bear” Don’t pet a bear)
- LisaBearCub.com
8. Use your name + the name of a food
You can use your name and a food’s name to create your blog name.
Of course, it doesn’t have to include the name of your favorite food, it could just be a food that you’re currently eating or in your vicinity.
See here:
- GilPizza.com
- PizzaGil.com
- GilLovesPizza.com
- GilEatsPizza.com
- GilPizzaPalace.com
- GilPizzaLife.com
This would also be a great idea in naming your food blog.
9. Use your name + a number
Be careful with this one because you don’t want to use a number that can be confused with the spelling of the number.
For instance:
- 1AmyPizza.com
Can be confused with:
- OneAmyPizza.com
You should only include numbers in your domain if they cannoy be easily confused with another number.
Numbers above 12 are a bit harder to be confused with the spelling of the numbers. Since not many people would type in “thirteen” into the search bar.
They’d stop and think, “Mhm, I think they used Arabic number instead of the English spelling” because “thirteen” is harder to spell and longer than “one” or “five” or “eleven”.
Here’s how you could do it:
- 33AmyBear.com
- 33Pizzas.com
- 33Lisa.com
- 33RedRose.com
Don’t pick numbers that are easy to spell. 40 is easily confused with “forty”.
Pick numbers that are harder to spell out so people will distinctively remember that they didn’t type in the spelling of the number last time.
10. Use your name + a catchy phrase
You can use the name of food, animal, color, number, etc in your domain name but a lot of people also use a catchphrase instead.
For instance:
- MakingSenseOfCents.com
- AnUnforgettableLife.com
- CoffeeFirst.com
- YouOnlyLiveOnce.com
(I don’t know if the last three are real websites)
11. Think of adding the following terms to your lifestyle blog name
Include the following words in your blog if you’re having trouble coming up with a name.
- Adventure
- Life
- Journey
- Fam
- Living
- Love
- Loving
- Passion / Passionate
- Daily
- Good
- Project
- Voyage
- One
- Moment
- Buzz
- Home
- Self
- Family
- Single
- Couple
- Year
For instance, your blog name could be:
- TheAmyProject.com
- AmyMoment.com
- AmyFamLife.com
- AmyBuzzDaily.com
- AmyPizzaYear.com
12. Write a catchy name without using your name
You don’t even have to include your name in your blog name if you don’t want to.
Plenty of lifestyle bloggers doesn’t do it.
Here’s how you could go about it:
- OneLoneNewYorkGirl.com (Seems a bit long but can be easily remembered?)
- ItsABuzzLife.com
- PizzaDailyLife.com
- FoxMomentDaily.com
13. Use the .com extension
I would suggest you use the .com extension since other extensions can make your site look more spammy and less trustworthy.

Final thought
Here we are, at the very end of the article. Have you thought of a few names yet?
I hope I have given you some great ideas.
Write them all down on a piece of paper or on your laptop and then pick the one that you intuitively think of if you could only give yourself 1 second to choose.
It may take a while for you to feel comfortable with the name.
Say it out loud a few times and type it out a few times, you’ll begin to grow more fond of the name you chose.
Good luck!
